At Oklahoma ER & Hospital, we take the health and safety of our patients and employees very seriously. We will continue to do everything we can to ensure that the community is treated safely, while also taking measures to prevent the ongoing spread of this virus.
To assist our efforts, we are asking patients with fever, cough, or other flu-like symptoms, recent travel history, or other known exposure to COVID-19 - to please call our facility at (405) 251-2300 prior to, or upon arrival. Our team will initiate screening and testing while you are still in your vehicle. We will have a designated area for you to park and then our staff will come to you to begin the screening for COVID-19.
While we are unable to directly test for the virus - we can perform influenza, RSV, and strep testing and also collect samples for COVID -19 testing at the direction of the Oklahoma State Department of Health. It currently takes 2 to 4 days in order to receive these test results. Once our screening examinations are complete, patients will then be given instructions concerning next steps. Testing will be administered upon physician evaluation and discretion.
Most people will be able to recover at home, however, some will need further evaluation to include: laboratory, X-Ray, and/or CT (Computed Tomography) scan to allow a more informed clinical decision. Our team will assist in directing your care.
In addition to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, Oklahoma ER & Hospital has established the following visitation policy until further notice:
- Only one visitor per patient.
- Visitor must be over the age of 18, including siblings of the patients.
- Visitor must be without cough, fever, or flu like symptoms.
- For any patients that have confirmed COVID-19, NO VISITORS will be allowed in the room unless the patient is a minor.
We are asking that any visitor who may be sick or experiencing flu like symptom not visit the hospital unless they are seeking medical treatment.
For specific questions or inquiries regarding COVID-19, please contact the Oklahoma State Department of Health call center: (877) 215-8336.
